Dirty 12 and Clean 15
Don’t make fun of me but I got super exited when I saw the annual “Dirty Dozen” and “Clean Fifteen” lists were just released by the Environmental Working Group (EWG).
In my nutrition course they made a HUGE emphasis on understanding that in order to be considered Organic it must have the USDA (US Department of Agriculture) seal and contain at least 95% organically produced ingredients.
Organic can also stand for pricey that’s why they’ve created a list called “Dirty Dozen” with the highest pesticide residue that are worth spending on. Or you can always grow your own produce to ensure that you control what’s being sprayed on your crops (not my case)
The “Clean Fifteen” list, allows you to see where the least amount of chemical pesticides and residues are (you can save your money for the dirty dozen)
